Is there a way to look at file names only & not extensions when compare directories ? So that (for example) CITZ0125.L27 and CITZ0125.L29 would be considered identical. Looking through the available options I didn't find anything like that.
Thank You,

Re: Command line switch for reset to default options?
Thank you! Where will that go in the command line? Currently my command line used to invoke from MS Access is (for example)
C:\Program Files\ExamDiff Pro\ExamDiff.exe "G:\MAIER F2\INFO\Notes\1199_Org.txt" "G:\MAIER F2\INFO\Notes\1199_New.txt"
C:\Program Files\ExamDiff Pro\ExamDiff.exe "G:\MAIER F2\INFO\Notes\1199_Org.txt" "G:\MAIER F2\INFO\Notes\1199_New.txt"

Command line switch for reset to default options?
I am wondering is there a command line switch I can use that will reset the new session to default options on all option pages. Looking through Help and other sources I saw a lot of individual switches but no "master switch".

Re: ExamDiff Icon
I would like to take advantage of that, that is, get the icon, but when I go to download I get an .exe file rather than a .zip file. I don't want to overwrite my installation. Is there a way to specify a .zip file so that I can extract just the icon, or accomplish the same thing same other way ...

Re: Invoking ExamDiff from MS Access Visual Basic API
Thank you it does. To get the double quotes to match the command line string I saw in a different post (http://tinyurl.com/bmfwc7c) you have to play this kind of game:
Private Sub CallExamDiff_Click()
Dim sDOSCMD As String
Dim sCmdLine As String
Dim dblRetVal As Double
Dim sF1, sF2 As String
sF1 ...

Invoking ExamDiff from MS Access Visual Basic API
I have an Access database application which among its many cool features outputs files from text fields showing what they said when a user entered a given form, and what said they when that user exits that form. That is
Original.txt
Blah blah
Blah blah
Blah blah
EOF
Changed.txt

Thank You.
“One difference in 6.0 vs. 5.5 is that, if you open the Compare dialog after the error message about the missing file, it does not prompt for that (missing) file, but this is arguably unnecessary.”

Problem with .edpi file association
I now have to bite the bullet & use Windows 7.
After installing ExamDiff Pro I noticed that the .edpi extension had no association. I used W7 to associate w/EDPro but that made it so the .edpi itself file was always the first file to be compared. That is the first dropdown contained "Whatever.edpi ...

Windows 7 turns search string to gobbledygook
My precious "Lines matching regular expression" string which you gave me several years ago, and which is a godsend, namely, \w+\b(?<!M5\d\d) is turned into 4 or 5 odd looking special characters when I run ExamDiff on Windows 7. Examdiff version is 4.0.2.11. Will a newer version cure this?

Re: comparing THREE files at once
Interesting, I asked about a 4-way and was told no way no how. If the 3 way is in successful what about a 4 way? Programmers of advanced sliding headstock lathes (we really are out here) will beat a path to your door! Many will jump at the 3-way but I use 2 and 4.
