Re: Crash with "Convert tabs to spaces when saving files"
OK thanks for the quick turnaround. I guess there's no change: "Convert tabs to spaces when saving files" does literally what it says: it converts all tab characters in the file, but only when saving - the editor still shows tabs.

"Smart Home key behavior" won't go away for long
If I turn off "Smart Home key behavior", it stays off during the session, but after restarting EDP it's always back. All other options I care about are simply saved.

Crash with "Convert tabs to spaces when saving files"
If I set "Convert tabs to spaces when saving files" on, and save a file (whether it was edited or not and whether it contains tabs or not), EDP crashes. This is the 64 bit version on Windows 7. I reset all pages in the options to make sure. I don't really care about this option in its rath...

Ignore backup subdirectory slightly too harsh
For months I've had both backup options under Dir Comparison > More turned on ( Back up files replaced during Copy operation and Ignore backup subdirectory in comparions ). Very nice. Except when you try to explicitly compare the backup directory to the "current" one. EDP shows the backup ...

Find result shifted by one character
If Match whole word only is on, find often sets a selection one character off to the left. E.g. compare a file with the line nowww www with an empty file or so. Do Ctrl-F www and turn on Match whole word only . Find finds " ww" instead. This in 29/11 beta (and the one I had before). Note t...

Select files through the Current diff bar
A directory comparison shows "blocks" of files. For instance if you order by column Status, you're likely to have four blocks: Same files, Changed files, Deleted files, Added files. Copying those "blocks" isn't as easy as in file comparisons. You need to select all the files in t...

Sounds like a good protection against recursive directory structures. But it's a real disappointment for those who use junctions properly. Being able to switch off this protection is now definitely #1 on my personal wish list. It doesn't matter to me if EDP loops indefinitely in case I'm stupid enou...

Directory recursion ignores junction/reparse points
Windows supports something resembling symbolic links to directories, under the name junctions or reparse points. AFAIK they exist since Windows 2000 and NTFS 5 but support became official with Windows XP. Don't ask me how it works but you can create them off empty directories. When comparing directo...

Copy to THIS/OTHER/Third Directory
I didn't find any bug in the latest beta so I have to nitpick... I'm always looking for the "Copy to Third Directory" right-click menu entry on directory comparisons; why is it hidden between the Ctrl-C and Ctrl-Shift-C items and not next to the other two "Copy to ... directory" ...

Copy as Text not making sense when View Filter is on
Beta 10/10/2005. In a directory comparison, when Use View Filter is on and prunes the items displayed, Copy as Text does a half-hearted job. Only some of the selected lines are copied and some are pasted as empty lines.
