I still have a problem.
The IT group would like some sort of assurances that this file is NOT a virus.
We use Trend Micro and it does not like anything that is PESnoop. You can do all the scans you want from web tools, but unlike some tools on the web, our virus protection software is not friendly ...

Virus detected on install
I recently performed a reinstall of ExamDiff Pro and in the process I received a warning that a virus was detected.
The file name is PESnoop.exe and the virus/malware name is PAK_GENERIC.001.

Trouble reading Javascript (.js) files
I’m getting some inconstancies when doing an examination of my local directories to the one on my FTP when it comes to .js files for javascript. I have also seen this with other ascii type files.
What I see is the local directory reporting the files as “Added” but the FTP side shows nothing.

Turning off passive
How do I turn passive off when doing a comparison between a local directory and server using FTP?
What would the line look like?
ftp://foooo:foofighters.fooftp.com//dev.foobar.org/
Please provide a sample of either how this line would be changed, or of any changes elsewhere.
Thanks,
Cy

Ahhhh, but I want more...
I've seen some programs that can compare a directory, and let you know when files are not identicle.
In other words, files are compared even as the directory is being compared and the files that are not identicle are hilighted in some fashion.
Is this already possible, and if so, how do I get such ...

Sorry, just realized the whole line I pasted from MSDOS did not copy right. Here is what I got.
Code: Select all
C:\Program Files\ExamDiff Pro\Plug-Ins\wget\wget-1.10.2b\wget.js(6, 1) Microsoft
JScript runtime error: Subscript out of range

Which part of this do I need? If I had an example and if you were more precise I would not need to keep asking questions.
I'm not trying to be rude, but detailed answers are very helpfull in a forum. Not just for me, but for the next person who may also have this problem. This way they get answers ...

This could be a firewall or some other security-related issue. Try the following: press Ctrl+C when you get the error message, then paste the error into Notepad. Take the command line part from Notepad and run it from the MS-DOS prompt.

Still not working
I’ve tried using the example you gave and came up with some sort of windows error, and then any other attempts tell me the directory does not exist. I know it does, and when I get that error it doesn’t even seem to be acting like it is connecting to the FTP server because it happens instantly.

How do I set up ExamDiff Pro to compare a local directory to a remote directory?
Is there a connect section in the options that I am not seeing? I would guess you need username and password. ???

Comparing against a server
I need an example of how to compare my local files against the server.
Can this be done, and if so can the root also be compared, even through the sub directories?
I worked with one program that was able to do this, but the company I worked for made thier own (Gemini).
Thanks
Cy
