Difference files have a space between each letter

Post by comparer » Mon Mar 18, 2013 9:37 am

In comparing two files, the difference file has a space between each letter. For example, instead of "Select Case selectString", it says " S e l e c t C a s e s e l e c t S t r i n g". Any idea what's causing this? Thanks.

Maybe the files are in Unicode? How do you know that these files actually don't have spaces?

Yes, this typically means that your files were not recognized as Unicode files by ExamDiff Pro based on their contents. You can force ExamDiff Pro to treat your files as Unicode by changing encoding in the File Open dialog that you can start from the Compare Dialog.

Sorry, I posted this on the Pro forum but I have the freeware version. I don't think I can change the encoding on the freeware version. I will post on the freeware forum now.
