3.5 beta bug report

Post by MudGuard »

Hi,

ExamDiffPro 3.5 12.11.2006 05:08:39 (registered)

comparing two binary files (identical, show anyway).
Right-click on file, move mouse-pointer over "Explorer Menu" reliably crashes ExamDiff Pro:

The instruction at "0x00407592" referenced memory at "0x00000010". The memory could not be "read".

Same happens with not-identical binary files.

Same happens with text files (identical or not).

System information: Win2K SP 4 ehglish on Intel Pentium 4 (2.66 GHz), 512MB Ram

Can't reproduce (tried in both WinXP and Win2000). Could you post here the details (I believe there's a button "Details" or something like that on the crash dialog).

Thanks.

Please try the latest build of 3.5 Beta. I'm not 100% sure that the problem has been fixed but the crash address you provided led to a suspicious place in the code.

The only thing besides the quoted text is
"Click on OK to exit the program"
"Click on CANCEL to debug the program" *)
and an OK and a Cancel button.

*) I never understood why Microsoft didn't write "DEBUG" on the button for debugging ...

I did. And I tried my best to reproduce the bug - but failed.

You fixed it! ;-)

Right. But it's definitely not the last Beta build.
