memory usage when comparing folders

Post by redbarn »

I've noticed that examdiff pro 3.2c is eating a huge ammount of memory when comparing folders,

I 've seen some compare rules using +150->200MB or RAM ! is this normal?

It depends -- mostly on how many files you compare, and how many differences are found. If you compare hundreds of thousands of files, and there're thousands of diffs, memory usage may reach 200-300 MBytes. In more reasonable comparison scenarios EDP will use up to 10 MBytes. Make sure that you monitor Private Bytes column (using either built-in PerfMon, or Process Explorer from SysInternals).
