while editing files within ExamDiff Pro 3.2c i have the following serious problem: The ACL of the file (running Windows XP with NTFS) are reset.
I think this is happening because while saving edited files ExamDiff seems to copy that file from a temp-directory to the original location.
The save operation should rather be done by opening the source file and directly replacing it's contents - this way the original ACL's are perfectly preserved.
Please ExamDiff Team - look after this.
I'm wondering that noone else seems to have come over this problem.
You are correct. ExamDiff Pro does reset file ACL, and it does use a temp file when saving a file. The bug will be fixed in the next build of 3.3 Alpha (available on the web site).
Interestingly, none of our users, over the years, ever had a problem with this.
