My precious "Lines matching regular expression" string which you gave me several years ago, and which is a godsend, namely, \w+\b(?<!M5\d\d) is turned into 4 or 5 odd looking special characters when I run ExamDiff on Windows 7. Examdiff version is 4.0.2.11. Will a newer version cure this?

Probably not. This has to do with installing/using 32- and 64-bit versions. The only remedy is to enter the regex again. Let me know if you need help in figuring it out.
