I'm using ExamDIff Pro 5.0.1.9 (32 bit) [unregistered].
I have a local hard disk "E:\" (24 folders, 48000 files) and a network drive mapped to "X:\", (22 folders, 41000 files) which I like to compare.
In the directory comparision options I've set to compare directories recursively. Inlcude is set to "*", while exclude ist set to "" (empty string).
I have admin rights on the local and the remote computer.
When I compare E:\ with X:\, everything works as expected, ExamDiff shows me what directories and files are different.
Then I created snapshots of both drives from the local computer. (E.xml and X.xml)
When I compare E.xml with X.xml, ExamDiff shows me that both directories are identical. When I click on "Show Directories Anyway", I get a balloon message in the left window telling me "24 items (files and/or directories) were not compared because of the directory comparision filters you set up." and "22 items" in the right window.
When I compare E:\ with X.xml, it shows me that 339 items have not compared because of the filters and that only 2 files are different.
When I compare X:\ with E.xml, it shows me the results which I expected (the same results as when comparing E:\ and X:\ directly without the use of snapshots)
I also tried the other versions of ExamDiff available for download (4.5.2.2, 4.0.2.11, 3.5.1.5).
Only the 3.5 version does not have the problem described above. It doesn't have any options to "filter" when comparing directories.
Errors when comparing snapshots
Re: Errors when comparing snapshots
Thank you for reporting this. The fix appears in the latest build (5.0.1.10).
