Scroll down - 1 line per wheel-notch...

Happen to anybody else? Work-around?

There was one problem like yours reported in version 3.2c, and no remedy was found. Here what our reply was:
We checked the source code, and there appears to be no asymmetry in up vs. down scrolling. In fact, we use MFC (if you are familiar with C++ programming for Windows) code for mouse wheel support, meaning that there's no custom code in ExamDiff Pro that could cause your problem.
Some questions:
- Is EDPro the only program that exhibits this problem?
- Does it happen always?
- Does it happen in all EDPro views (text, binary, directories)?

The only one I've noticed, and I use a lot of programs...

Yes

Does
not do it in Directory compare. I don't use binary compare.
I'll try it without the Logitech mouse/keyboard, and see what happens.
Fixed, but not sure why...

Well... I uninstalled Logitech S/W, keyboard and mouse.
Installed standard keyboard and MS wheel mouse, and Intellipoint 5.2. Still had asymmetric mouse wheel scroll.
Reinstalled Logitech... and still asymmetric scroll.
Fooled around with Logitech's mouse settings, selected (enabled) "Smart Move" on "My Mouse/Mouse Movement" tabs of SetPoint hardware and now the mouse wheel scroll works.
Go Figure... Thanks for the help. Keep up the good work.

Interesting. Searching the Web, it would appear as though this setting would cause problems, not fix them...
(See
Text selection in Code view is inaccurate in Dreamweaver MX at

Even more interesting...

After that previous "fix", it shortly started doing it again.

This time I selected "restore defaults" in the SetPoint software, reset the few non-default setting I use, and now it works as it should.
Go figure...
In any case, now it works, and I can finish this big job.

I found that my scroll wheel has perhaps a similar effect if the "Current Difference" drop-down is highlighted. Like other drop-downs in Windows if you turn the wheel the next/prev item is selected. If difference #1 is currently displayed and the "Current Difference" control is highlighted, rotating the scroll wheel down one click will move the display to the next difference. Rotate the wheel up one click will move to the previous difference. This is the same behavior if you use the up-down arrow keys.
Perhaps you are finding that when you first start comparing two files this "Current Difference" control right under the buttons is selected. If you want to avoid this behavior make sure to click off of this control.
I like this feature if I am moving from change to change quickly without taking my hand off the mouse. It is also handy just to use the cursor keys.
I hope this helps someone.

Good point. However, there was a real bug in scrolling by wheel mouse, and it is now fixed in 3.4 Beta.
