Starting ExamDiff Pro from Windows Explorer

Post by boigman »

Hi, everyone. As I understand, I should be able to select 2 files in a directory, and then select ExamDiff Pro from the right-click "Open With" menu. However, when I do that, only File 1 is from the pair I just selected. File 2 is from the previous session.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this the usual behavior?
Thanks for any assistance you can give me.

Using "Open with" will open EDPro with one file as a parameter, that's why the second file will remain as it was in the previous session.

There two better ways to launch EDPro from the Explorer:

1. Use Send To. You will have to add EDPro shortcut to your Send To folder (typically located at C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\SendTo)

2. Even better: use EDPro Explorer Shell extension (enabled by default, can be enabled under Options | Global). This will allow you to right-click in Explorer and choose Compare (if two files are selected) or Select First Item and Compare to... if one file is selected.
