Three column comparison?

Post by arobustus »

I use Examdiff for editing CNC programs for an 11 axis two channel machine, using the ignore string \w+\b(?<!M5\d\d) that I got from working with the wizards on this forum. This causes the wait commands to be lined up. (These commands have the very important purpose of preventing disasters totaling close to six figures in some cases.) When you are working with this stuff you want to see the wait commands lined up, so that you can see what the simultaneous machine motions will be. I was telling a colleague about it who then asked, what about three channel editing? It is not unusual, or I should say not unknown, in CNC machining to have three channel machines, that is, they run three separate programs synchronized by wait commands. Anyway, is there a version of Examdiff capable of handling three columns?
Thank You,

If you are talking about comparing tree files, or 3-way comparison, then no, ExamDiff Pro is not currently capable of doing this.
