Is there a way to exclude these files from a directory compare, since they are of little value to me, I don't want them returning a value for being different.

in the options, under Dir Comparison
at the top of the box is "Filters" where you can define include and exclude patterns.

My fault, I forgot to include the *.vss and *.scc, thanks for the input, it is now working the way that I need it to .
