Save file? Why?

Post by MSpagni »

While comparing a couple of files in binary mode, if I click cancel (command that's often very slow to be executed) I get the dialog box: "Save first file".
There's nothing to save, I simply aborted a (binary) comparison.

I couldn't reproduce this. What are your exact steps? In what version?

The version is EDpro 4.5.3.0 (n.b. private-traced: can be this?).

There is no special sequence to follow. Simply start a comparison of a couple of binary files (plugins disabled) and then cancel the comparison.
It doesn't miss a hit: every time I get the "Save first file" dialog.

Maybe what's significant is the configuration.
You should already have it (see the topic "Failure on save"); if you don't, please let me know and I'll send you.

Thanks, it was the difference in options. The fix will appear in the next version.
