Diff Report Help Please

Post by Jtuomi »

I am trying to print a report that only shows the differences, not the matches. I see some references to a command line entry that can do this, but I don't understand how to implement it. Can someone point me in the right direction?

It depends on what report you are trying to print. If it's the text diff report from the command line, no options are needed: you will only get differences. For the HTML report, you'll get what you see on the screen. To see only differences use the View | Use View Filer menu command. The same will work for the Files | Print command.

Thanks for the reply. When I print the diff report, I receive everything that appears on the screen (matches and differences included). What I am comparing is two text files, featuring one column of data in each.

I tried the view|use view filter option, but there seems to be a small pop-up box that appears, but nothing on-screen or in the report changes.

Am I doing something wrong?

Make sure you have what you need in Options | Display | View Filter. This is what gets used when you use the Use View Filter command. By default, the "View identical segments" is unchecked, and this will give you only differences when you use the Use View Filter command.
