Need help making a specific comparison

Post by Refsys »

Hi, I've been messing around with examdiff for a little while now but have no choice to come here and ask for help!

Example
1st directory:

folder1
|- aa1.jpg
|- bb1.jpg

folder2
|- aa2.jpg
|- bb2.jpg

folder3
|- aa3.jpg
|- bb3.jpg

2nd directory:

folder123
|- aa1.jpg
|- aa2.jpg
|- bb2.jpg
|- aa3.jpg
|- bb3.jpg

My question is, how do I tell examdiff to ignore the directory structure of folder 1 2 3 so I can compare only file to file?

Thanks!

You can't in the current version. The next version is expected to allow selecting more than one folder for each comparison item.

This was sent to us by a user of ExamDiff Pro in response to the OP's question:
A possible solution is to just perform the comparison with, of course, "incorrect" results.
However, it is possible to select all files in the second pane now, copy them and paste them (without the path) in another (or new) directory.
Then the desired comparison can be made from the new directory.

Another way to gather the files is by using a tool to search for any file within the second directory's structure.
I use Agent Ransack for that.
This avoids the actual, incorrect comparison, but this would not (have to) take much time, since no files can be matched.
