High CPU usage, Version 5.5.0.4 (32-bit) WinXp
The ExamDiff.exe (beta) process uses 50% of my Intel Dual Core2 Duo's, regardless of whether the app is active or not. I've searched the forum for CPU but came up dry on current versions, any suggestions for resolving the CPU usage issue?

Your options zip file is password-protected, so I couldn't open it. Without seeing it, there are a couple op possibilities of high CPU usage:
1. If you compared two directories that experience a lot of changes, and your Change Notification option under Options | Misc is not set to Do Not Monitor, EDP will be constantly notified by Windows about file system changes.
2. If you choose to display file CRCs, there will be a thread that lazily calculates them after the comparison is over. In this case you will see a small progress bar in the status bar of the main window,
The above is valid for all recent version of EDP, not just 5.5.

Thanks a bunch, psguru! It was my change notifications and I had done quite a bit of rearranging and renaming on compared files and directories that day.
