Bugs noticed in the first 2 minutes of operation:
- Screen font was changed (from 10pt to 9pt) without asking the user.
- Copying lines using the arrows on screen does update the change markers,
- Arrows, backspace, delete buttons don't work for navigating inside the file panes.
- Probably more, but
I am sorry, this is not a beta-level release, not even alpha level.
Please take it down until it passes basic QA.
EDP 9.0 is a boggy as hell
Re: EDP 9.0 is a boggy as hell
Thank you for your kind comments.
We are unable to reproduce this. Would be nice to have steps.- Screen font was changed (from 10pt to 9pt) without asking the user.
Not sure what this means.- Copying lines using the arrows on screen does update the change markers,
Try resetting your keyboard shortcuts in Options | Global | Keyboard.- Arrows, backspace, delete buttons don't work for navigating inside the file panes.

Re: EDP 9.0 is a boggy as hell
The last problem, the issue with keyboard accelerators, will be fixed shortly and deployed tonight. In the meantime, as I said earlier, resetting keyboard shortcuts fixes the issue.

Re: EDP 9.0 is a boggy as hell
Font was set to Lucida Console Regular 10. After upgrade it changed to 9.psguru wrote:Thank you for your kind comments. We are unable to reproduce this. Would be nice to have steps.- Screen font was changed (from 10pt to 9pt) without asking the user.
Steps:
Started EDP
Got a notification that a new version was available
Was directed to web page
Downloaded and installed
Got a warning that an instance was running
Closed the running instance and finished the installation
Ran the new version.
Try resetting your keyboard shortcuts in Options | Global | Keyboard.
- Arrows, backspace, delete buttons don't work for navigating inside the file panes.
That worked, but I lost all my custom key bindings.
Which leads me to believe that the upgrade messes up the registry settings (at least font and KB).
Not sure what this means.
- Copying lines using the arrows on screen does update the change markers,
Clicking on a synchronization button should remove the block from the diff bar.
It didn't in 9.0

Re: EDP 9.0 is a boggy as hell
Out of the three issues you reported we cannot reproduce the first and the third.
1. The installer doesn't make any changes to fonts (or key bindings for that matter - that was a different problem). The new version (9.0 in this case) will use the same Registry values as the previous one (8.0), so if should (and does in our tests) use the same font. If you have 8.0 and 9.0 side by side, try running 8.0, change the font, quit, run 9.0 and see the font - should be the same.
3. The color bar does change after a copy operation in our testing.

Re: EDP 9.0 is a boggy as hell
I just intalled 9.0.0.1.
I can't quantify the change in the font but the font seems smaller and thinner, at least that on the menu, the title bar and, in special mode, in the editor. Too small to be comfortable for my eyes.
Not a big problem, but after the installation my layout changed: the output pane and the differences bar reappeared.
And my toolbar has gone. Since I already had this problem (changing from ver. 7 to ver. 8?), I think I made my own just to be sure it's not overwritten...
I can't reproduce the issue #3. The display after the copy seems to work as usual.

Re: EDP 9.0 is a boggy as hell
Version 9.0 has completely different menu and toolbar controls, so the font of the former may be different. The toolbars should be reset on the first installation of 9.0, they are completely different from previous versions. The fonts of the title bar and the editor should not have changed, we are using the same controls as before.I just intalled 9.0.0.1.

Re: EDP 9.0 is a boggy as hell
Ok. I'll redo the toolbars.
N.B. Of course it was easy to change the font size in the editor.
I was just surprised that the new version didn't "inherite" many things from the previous one.

Re: EDP 9.0 is a boggy as hell
Well, as I said, the editor should use the same font size as 8.0. If it's not, and you have a reproducible scenario, please post it here.

It seems I don't have a reproducible scenario, sorry.
