OOXML2Txt

Post by MSpagni »

Bear for me!
The current 32 bit version of OOXML2Txt don't work under XP and I'm unable to find an older version working.
How back should I go in NWC to extract a proper version for XP?

Sure! :(
The great majority of the programs compiled for 32 bits today with the most recent versions of Microsoft compilers can't be run on XP.
If I got it right, with the latest, not even on Seven 32 bits!

So they are useless for me.
On my computers it's either 32 bits XP or 64 bits Ten. I see no point using some windows in between.
(N.B. I'll stay on Ten as long as I can! )

Of course I'm glad EDP works (fine!) on XP too.

It's hard to tell when XP became unsupported by OOXML2Txt. There were two major project changes, one in March, 2023 (switch from .Net 4.0 to .Net 4.5) and another in January, 2021 (various changes). I suspect the former was the culprit, so getting EDP setup from an earlier date may work.

Well, the least I can say is that I'm puzzled.
While I was experimenting with the older versions of OOXML2Txt I left the newest untouched.
Being somehow in a hurry, I made a comparison using the newest and... it worked. And still seems to work.
Maybe the problem was the kind of open office files? I don't know. I haven't those files anymore.
